Beyond the Glass
I’m walking along the windowsill
My tiny feet making marks in the dust
And when the light shines through and brightens up the room
I’ve got a road to walk in sunlight or with the moon
A bird flies by outside the glass
Displaying spotted wings and a lovely yellow breast
And when he whistles out and waits for a reply
I long to learn his song, grow wings and touch the sky
Oh oh, I like my little path
It keeps me safe on every side
And I know where I belong
But oh oh, sometimes I wonder if
I’m missing out on something better beyond the glass
And when the rain comes I will laugh
Cause all the droplets try to race and be the best
And when I smell the well-washed flowers through the cracks
I wonder how the wind would feel against my back
I’ve never felt the grass beneath my feet
Oh I don’t know if it might hurt me
Oh would someone please report to me
If I’m missing out on something better beyond the glass
Oh oh, I like my little path
It keeps me safe on every side
And I think that I belong
But oh oh, sometimes I wonder if
I’m missing out on something better beyond the glass
Oh oh, I like my little path
It keeps me safe on every side
And I think that I belong
But oh oh, I'm learning how to see that
I’m missing out on something better beyond the glass
I want to open up and live beyond the glass
