Shadow's Song
I’m a little shadow, and I’m shaking in the wind
I’m a broken castle, no residents within
I’m a newborn bird, falling fast, trying hard to fly
I’m a lonely dreamer, just searching for the sky
I’m a copper coin, and I’ve been tossed into the well
I’m a quiet soul, just trying to quell all the noise
I’m a sealed letter, wondering if I am all that important
Inside I rehearse what I’d do if I could really see the world
Climbing all the trees
I’m climbing all the vines and staircases
This is what I do
To find horizons in the distance
Those big old towns are looking like small places
Oh I will not live my life with days gone by wasted
I’m telling a story, but I’m talking in my sleep
It’s a lot of nonsense, but sometimes that’s what we need
I’m building a wall, but I can’t lift up some of the boulders
I guess it’s for the best, having holes where the light can shine through
This is what I do
I’m finding a way to bloom
All those far off places
Are looking closer
